ALCOHOLS

Alcohols

Alcohols have many industrial uses: additive for fuels, for alcoholic beverages, as solvents and plasticizers, for detergents.

BUTYL ALCOHOL

Butyl alcohol is a solvent for enamels and paints, also used as an additive in solvents for industrial cleaning, fuels and chromatography.

It is used in the synthesis of ethers and esters, including butyl acrylate and butyl acetate.
It is also used as a hydraulic fluid.

ISOBUTYL ALCOHOL

Isobutyl alcohol or 2-methyl-1-propanol is a paint solvent used in various industrial sectors.

It finds application mainly in the ink and paint industry but is also used in sectors such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, textiles, adhesives, sealants, rubber, tanning and construction.

ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL

Isopropyl alcohol, also known as isopropanol alcohol, is a volatile, colourless and flammable liquid.
Also called propanol, it is easily synthesized by the reaction of propylene with sulfuric acid, followed by hydrolysis.
Used in the production of acetone, as a solvent and for many other compounds.

It is used for various industrial sectors, such as cosmetics, and perfumery, as an additive for combustible mixtures, as a de-icer for fluid fuels, and for inks.
Often used for hygiene and health as a degreaser and disinfectant.

BENZYL ALCOHOL

Benzyl alcohol is an aromatic organic compound found in various plants and is a component of oils.
It has a characteristic and pleasantly aromatic smell.

It is a preservative with antimicrobial properties, highly tolerated by the skin and with a low environmental impact, which is why it is widely used in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical fields in multiple ways.

Used in the pharmaceutical industry, in paints, inks, and resins.
